This past weekend Fabricland held a massive customer appreciation sale which for me meant some serious shopping 🙂
Of course the first thing I did was called Mom to fill her in on the juicy sale info – we’re talking 50% off everything in store, most fabrics were buy 1 meter get 2 free and McCall’s patterns were on for just $3.99. Insane? Yes.
Sale started Friday and ended Sunday so Mom and I drew up our plan of attack and decided to meet there first thing after work on Friday.
We were there wandering the store, flipping through pattern catalogues, picking out notions (which is a fancy word for buttons, zippers, thread and anything else you might require to make a garment), debating on fabric over fabric selection for almost 3 whole hours! Some would consider shopping at Fabricland my part time job (including the sales staff who all know me by name).
Needless to say we both spent a pretty penny but walked out with a nice sewing arsenal! By the end of it I walked out with over 16 metres of fabric, 2 McCalls patterns, 4 spools of thread, 3 types of elastic, 3 zippers, 4 packages of bias tape, pant hooks and various ‘odds and ends’ of fabric all for just over $130.00. Though this may seem like a ton of money, but in effect I saved approximately over $150.00 easy. And just think, with all this material we won’t have to go back to Fabricland for at least a week as we have a nice stock of fabric and notions now too!
